Network

The Network

Leica SmartNet is enabled by a network of base stations located throughout New Jersey, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, Colorado, and Eastern Canada, to create a high density, high redundancy network which is able to deliver corrections at the centimeter level in RTK mode or sub-meter DGPS and with raw data for post processing.

Data from each of these base stations around the country is received over the Internet at a highly secure location in Rhode Island where it is processed using Leica SpiderNet, Leica Geosystems advanced network calculation software, also used by numerous DOT's throughout the United States, is made available to users when they log in via TCP/IP or NTRIP.

In addition to the real-time data services provided by SmartNet, users are also able to use Leica's SpiderWeb software to download both RINEX and SmartRINEX files for post-processed applications or use SpiderWeb's Coordinate Computation service to compute highly accuract positions throughout SmartNet.
